School Street Surgery Opening Hours
Normal opening hours
Val our Practice Nurse is usually here:
Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 12.30pm
Monday and Tuesday 2.30pm to 5.00pm
Please remember to allow five working days for repeat medication requests.
We do our best to keep these hours updated but due to staffing levels, as School Street Surgery is a branch surgery, with limited staffing, opening times may sometimes be subject to change at short notice. Please see notices on display at the surgery or ask our staff.
Our main surgery at Gold Street is open from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday every week (other than public holidays).
If you need medical advice when the surgery is closed please phone 111 (free call from mobiles and landlines) or dial 999 if you have a medical emergency.
Please note: if you normally call School Street Surgery on 01799 530950, we are aware of an exchange fault on this line, which has been reported to BT. Please phone the surgery on the main number 01799 525325 instead.
Emergencies
If you are confronted by a serious urgent problem such as acute chest pain, possible broken bones or severe bleeding, go to your nearest Accident and emergency department or call an ambulance (telephone 999) at your discretion.
What to do when the surgery is closed
If you require urgent medical assistance out of surgery hours please contact NHS111. To get help from NHS111, you can:
- go to 111.nhs.uk (for people aged 5 and over only)
- call 111 (please only phone 111 if you cannot get online)
NHS111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calls to this service are free from both landlines and mobiles. NHS111 includes the out-of-hours doctor service operated for West Essex GPs by Herts Urgent Care Ltd.
If you are contacting the surgery about a child, you may want to consult the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence's (NICE) "traffic light" system for identifying risk of serious illness in children in the "Emergencies" section of this website.
If you have a life-threatening medical emergency, please hang up and dial 999 now or visit the nearest Accident and Emergency Department.
You can contact us about a medical, administrative or prescription issue by visiting florey.accurx.com/p/F81009
